Just ordered delivery from here using grubhub. First let me say, it's expensive for what it is. I ordered fried spring rolls ($6.00) and some beef dish with onions, peppers and mushrooms ($12.00). I won't be eating there again. The rolls were not good. I make my own spring rolls and they are pretty much my favorite thing ever. So when I got theses 4 for $6 I was so disappointed. Very little meat and the raps were not tasty. The meat dish was ok. Had a bit of spice but wasn't too much. Better than normal take out. But nothing to write home about. They have Vietnamese hoagies $8(way over priced) Beef loc lac $18!!!!!! It cost less than that to make it at home!!!! Won't be eating from here again. Sad bc I got really excited seeing a Vietnamese place that delivers. But over priced bland food??? I'll pass.

My experience wasn't bad I ordered take out online. 5 minutes later I received a call that there was not any sesame chicken so I ordered chicken and broccoli. It took a little longer then expected but when it got here food was good. I was very happy with my order and the lunch special price was great. I do recommend giving it a try to other people.

This is a horrible establishmemt. No water salt or pepper at the table once seated. We had to ask for everything. The waitress was rude. I should have realized this was not a good place because when we arrived the place was empty.

Five stars: We are stoked to have a Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood (AND within walking distance!) We went ahead and took advantage of their online ordering system, placing an order for pick-up. Three Stars: Tried the shrimp shumai, bún with grilled beef, and curry thit. The food wasn't the best we've had, but it definitely hit the spot--the shumai tasted like it'd been frozen and then defrosted too quickly (probably won't order this again, unless they add a fried option). The bún was satisfactory & very filling. The curry was tasty--we didn't realize that it came with rice, so that was definitely a nice surprise! Result: Four Stars. We will definitely order from Saigon Grill again!

This place is a fraud if you like real authentic Vietnamese food.. The people working there are clearly Chinese (probably same people as prior Chinese restaurant just changed name to try to capitalize on current Vietnamese food rise in popularity) .. Still paid for all of my food even though after not drinking my watered down folgers that I was told was real Vietnamese iced coffee, I got a dirty look and had my request for a refund on just that flat out refused.. Will never go back, Pho Street in Springfield and Saigon HARBOR in Havertown are the real deal, and I'll continue going there..

First, read this before you buy a Groupon for this place. The food at this place is not bad. The portions depend on whether you use a coupon/groupon or not... It seems that take out entrees come with more food (at a lower cost) than dining in. We had ordered takeout via Grubhub and got a lot of tasty food (which included rice**). Because we had liked the take out we ordered a week ago, we decided to go there for dinner last night. I had bought a groupon, so we also used that. When we entered the restaurant there was a sign on the door that indicated that if anyone was using a groupon they would have to mention it prior to ordering, else they would not accept it. We noticed that the place was completely empty and I got an uneasy feeling about it... There were three of us in our party. The hostess of the restaurant came over to take the order. We told her that we had a groupon, and right away the look on her face changed and she wanted to immediately redeem it even before we ordered anything. Fine. For starters we ordered a veg hot and sour soup, spring rolls, veg sushi and an order of California rolls. For main course we proceeded to order eggplant with garlic sauce, and general tso chicken, but she said to us that we would have to order the rice separately because it was not included with the entrees! That came as a bit of a surprise to us because when we ordered the same items for takeout, we got two containers of rice with it! nevertheless, we decided to order an entree size of fried rice for all of us to share. All the appetizer items were good tasting, but the sushi was not worth the price charged for 6 tiny pieces. For the main dishes, the fried rice and eggplant came out first. I was shocked to see how small the portion was of the eggplant entree! It was very obvious that they had cut down the portions because we used a groupon! When the general tso chicken was ready, the owner's wife who was in the kitchen came out with it on a tray along with a bowl of white rice**. But as soon as the hostess server saw that, she immediately said something in chinese to the lady who quickly turned around and went back away with our meal and the rice! What???? She came back a few seconds later, minus the rice! So I asked her why she took it back and whether the rice came with the entrees, and she said YES!!!! Her name is Yun Yu and she was so nice and although she did not seem to understand english much, she was obviously embarrassed about what just happened. At that point the hostess again mumbled something and the rice came back. This means that the hostess lied to us all along, and because we used the groupon, she was trying to make up for it by charging us extra for the rice and giving us smaller portions. This is bad! The hostess was obviously also embarrassed and did not have anything to say. Whilst eating our meal, not once did she ask us how our meal was. When we finished our meal, she brought our bill and had already tacked on a 20% tip. We like to eat out a lot and we always tip the servers very fairly, but in this case after what we experienced, we were certainly not going to let her add a 20% tip which she most certainly did not deserve. My husband called her out on her obvious lack of customer service, her lying to us, and having an attitude the whole time. We told her that it was our prerogative as to how much we wanted to tip and in this case, she did not deserve the 20%. She made excuses of how she is not normally the server and therefore she did not know how things worked! Really?? We did tip them 15% because the food was good and the owner's wife was nice, so we did not want to penalize her business because of an ignorant worker. They obviously need to retrain this girl because if they don't, they will lose customers because of her. We will certainly not be going back to dine in, but we like to support family owned small businesses, so we will probably order take out.

The food was ok. It is hard to find a place that delivers Pho in this area. I was not feeling well and could not drive. The Pho was not the best bit did it's purpose. I really loved their version of pepper steak and onion. Lots of colorful veggies.

I am sad to say I am really disappointed. I had high hopes as the location is convenient. I have ordered food here once before. The staff was unpleasant and the food was bland, but I wanted to give them a second chance. I ordered online, paid with a credit card, and went to pick up my order. I entered the restaurant and was greeted only by a heavy unpleasant smell, a combination of fish and mildew. It was fairly late and there were no customers in the restaurant--just one employee sitting toward the back. She did not even acknowledge my presence. I walked to her and she was playing a game--it looked like a Facebook game. I let her know I was there to pick up. She said, "okay," stopped her game, stood up, checked her cell phone (gotta see if there's something more important than the customer right in front of you!), then grabbed my order and walked to the front--she said nothing so I just followed. When we got to the register she asked for my ID (huh? If I had it delivered would I have needed to show ID? Bizarre.), I signed the receipt, and that was that. None of the usual courtesies one would expect. No "thank you for coming" or anything. Just...weird! The lack of appropriate human interaction is enough to make this one star even if the food was great. But the food is lacking as well. I ordered miso soup, which was okay, nothing special; and veggie curry (curry rau cai). The veggie curry had baked tofu slices mixed with carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, and onions. There was no flavor, only heat. I asked for mild and it felt like somewhere between medium and spicy. I can only imagine that asking for spicy would result in food that would induce a nosebleed. It was so bad I couldn't even eat enough to be full and wound up throwing it away.

One star for a discounted price for opening day! So expensive for non authentic vietnamese food. $18 for beef loc lac and $8.50 for vietnamese hoagie SO NOT WORTH IT. I was excited that a vietnamese place opened up near my house and they deliver but sad that the food wasn't worth it. Sorry won't be eating here again!

What a marvelous find! We wanted something a little different, and, after three days of being sick, had little interest in cooking. Or traveling. This was definitely the ticket. We're trying to figure out what's an acceptable timeframe before we order from Saigon Grill again. And since it's only a few blocks away, it's more than convenient! I hesitate to order steamed dumplings from anywhere, so glad I ordered these. The noodle was silky, the filling was plentiful. The La Sa Tom soup was amazing, I ate almost the entire quart all by myself. The Curry Ga, equally well prepared. The lemon soda, the tempura fried ice cream, the coffee - the entire order - well made, great portions, and, delivered hot! Good luck Saigon Grill, I hope you're here to stay!

Apparently this place is hit or miss, but I'm all for trying a new restaurant. Even with mixed reviews I decided to give it a shot. We went at 3:30 on a Friday. It was completely empty. My husband was there to try their Pho and I thought it would be interesting to see what their sushi selection was like. They only have Jasmine tea so we ordered some. It comes in a single cup for $2.50 We started with the Pork Gyoza ($5). They were probably the best gyoza I have ever had. That's why I gave three stars. I ordered the Mamenori Roll ($14). It has King Crab, shrimp, surami and avocado wrapped in pink soy paper. Unfortunately, the King Crab was over cooked and very chewy/rubbery. 8 pieces were very hard to get through. I also ordered the California Roll ($4.50) (my standard by which I hold each sushi place that I eat) and a Salmon Avocado roll.. The rolls came out one at a time after my husband's food had already been served. The California roll was fresh but probably the smallest sushi in diameter that I have ever had. It was good tasting but not really worth the price for 6 pieces. They never brought out my Salmon Avocado roll ($5). I would of asked the waitress about it but it's obviously family run, and there was no set person who waited on us, and a different person delivered each dish to the table. We were not offered water, or refills of our tea. The Husband got the Pho Bo ($7.50). He raved about how delicious the oxtail broth was, I tasted the broth, it was very delicious but I spied the meat they put in it and it looked like very cheap meat product. I was not impressed and decided then that I would never go there for the Pho, not when Pho Street is so incredible. 3 Stars is being very generous.

NO, NO, NO! Run, don't walk, away from this place. I have never posted a negative review in my life, but this one warrants me taking the time to warn others. The food was mediocre at best, but that wasn't the real problem. We went because we had a Groupon. First I called to place a takeout order, but they said we would have to come in to use the Groupon. So, we got the family together and made our way there. We were seated, ordered our food, and before we were finished eating (and well before the bill would have come), I told the waitress that we had a Groupon. She notified us that we could not use the Groupon and that we should have told her that we had it before we ordered. She argued with us and put us on the phone with her manager, who screamed at us over the phone. The manager told us that there was a sign in the window stating that we were to tell them of the Groupon before our order was placed. Why? Do they serve different food to the Groupon customers?? What was the point of that? We did tell them well before our bill was due to arrive. We found the sign, not in the window, but behind the cash register, and it was so small that we could barely read it. I have used Groupons in restaurants before without any issues. I have never, ever been treated like they treated me in my life. Then the manager (Selina) told us that we should pay the full amount and request a refund from Groupon. Finally, they added an $11 service charge onto our bill and accepted the Groupon. So, we paid $29 for the Groupon (supposed to be good for $50 of food), got a bill for $59, and a second bill for $70. We paid the extra $20, but they would only take cash - they refused our debit card. The total we paid was $50. Not exactly a deal. This was the WORST restaurant experience I have ever had in my life, and I would avoid this place at all costs.

Just had lunch here today with my husband and daughter. We ordered #1 which is the standard spring roll. It was very crispy and served with lots if fresh veggies Great taste. We also had Bun Xao shrimp, Bun Gao (chicken), and beef basil. It all was very flavorful and filling. Perfect when you need a break from pizza, burrito, sandwich etc. I'll warn you that the shrimp in the Bun Xao are very, very small but for $7 for lunch, the overall favor made up for it. Portions are big. Service is great. The people were very nice to my two year daughter. The decor is nice and clean. Everything brand new. Hope more people check it out and try ordering a few things to figure out what you you like. Oh! Had the green tea ice cream which was delicious and a huge serving. We'll be back soon.

We received a menu in the mail recently and placed a pick up order via GrubHub last Saturday night. We are so tired of the abundance of not-very-good pizza in Drexel Hill and were very pleased to have another, lighter choice. Our order was filled quickly and packaged with everything we needed to enjoy a great dinner. The portions were generous, the vegetables fresh, and the seasoning subtle and tasty. My husband enjoyed the Cha Gio and Bun Xao. My summer rolls and Banh Hoi were refreshing and light, a wonderful change from holiday food.

If you are familiar with Vietnamese cuisine there's two things you look for. Pho and everything else. Saigon Grill is not for Pho. If you want that stuff you drive down to Philly. However if you want to experience the other great things Vietnam has to offer this is the place. Grilled meats and vegetables, pickled vegetables, light and airy noodles, spring and summer rolls. Seriously this place (which delivered to our house) had some of the best Vietnamese treats. Great grilled chicken, even better grilled eggplant and to top it off spring rolls that could go up against anyone else's. I had to review this place to hopefully convince others to go or order delivery. I hate when good things open up in the area and close because nobody knew about it.

1 star for being open on Xmas eve (tho most viet spots are, which is why we went here). Otherwise, Absolutely disgusting. First off, the tea was barely even lukewarm. How do you bring out tea that ain't even hot from the jump? Ok. Then got a nice basic bowl of Pho Ga, it was the very worst soup I've ever had, anywhere at anytime. I'd prefer a dollar can of Campbells chicken noodle soup, no joke. The chicken looked like it was boiled for 3 days, and broth looked & smelled like it was just the water it was boiled in, with funky white gunk all on the top. They didn't have limes, acted like lemon was the same. They also didn't bring out any sliced jalepenos as pho normally does, and got stank about it when I asked for some, literally said "but then we have to slice one." Oh really? I'm so sorry to inconvenience you so much... So then upon first taste: broth was Horrible, tasted like it looked. And the chicken, wow. Was like soft rubber. Worst thing I've ever put in my mouth (pause). Spit out the rubber chicken/boiled water & asked for the bill right away, paid only cuz I didn't want to fight about it, and left as quick as possible. Looking for something now to wash that filthy taste out of my mouth.

Just got delivery from here last night. Very tasty summer rolls and beef dish. Delivery took about an hour so plan accordingly. I hope this place makes it. It's a good neighborhood addition. I'm looking forward to dining in and trying their pho.

I really hope more people try this place, and I'm a little surprised about how negative the reviews are. We got delivery tonight and I thought it was a great switch from the usual Chinese food in the area. We had fried spring rolls which were super crispy and tasty (kids really liked them), steamed pork dumplings (very good), chicken skewers (really tasty marinade and peanut dipping sauce). We had 2 soups: Pho (which I agree tasted nothing like Pho and didn't seem to come with the usual accompaniments) it was plain rice noodles in a mild chicken broth with very tender chicken in it, but still nice chicken noodle soup- kids liked it and the bouillabaisse which was lovely, lots of great spices, chock full of fish and veggies!!! We also had a curry chicken which was lovely and spicy, full of veggies!! A noodle dish not unlike pad Thai, but with beef great flavor, not greasy, kids LOVED it:) and a shrimp dish that I can't seem to remember.....the shrimp were cooked perfectly though. We also got to pick a free dish bc they have free giveaways for totals above a certain amount, we had edamame, they were perfect!! I have to say, it was a ton of food for the 4 of us.....and it was $70 including delivery, but we have paid that at other places with much lower quality food. Everything was tasty, at our house in about 45 mins. The delivery guy and the woman I spoke to on the phone were absolutely lovely, very polite!! We will definitely order again!!! I can only say, maybe they are working out the kinks.
